TEACHING

Lecturer on Record Beginning Ceramics, San Jose State University, San Jose California 2022- Present. In this beginning ceramics course we learn multiple hand building skills including coil and slab built ceramics and a short introduction to the wheel.

Lecturer on Record Ceramics, Gavilan Community College, Gilroy California

2024 - Present. In this ceramics course we continue to learn and develop work in ceramics. This course is a stacked class where all levels of experience are in the same classroom and are working in tandem.

RELATED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2024-2025 - Curatorial Fellow for the visual arts at MACLA- Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino 

Americana. Generally assist the visual arts curator with any of their workload. I assist with the selection of the artist and themes in one upcoming gallery installation. Paint walls of the gallery and prepare art to be hung. Assist in the press release.

2021- 2024- Graduate Assistant for the Jewelry and Small Metals department at San Jose 

State University. I keep the lab open when the instructor is ill assisting the professor with students that need help and guidance. Also help keep the lab in clean workable conditions, make sure that the equipment is running correctly. Make kits for projects and class, inventory and arrange backstock.  

2016- Present- Instructor of art courses for the Parks and Recreation Department for the City 

of San Jose. Teach an array of introductory classes to a variety of age groups that range from watercolor, art making exploration, and ceramics.

2021-2023 Art Preparater for the Natally Thompson Gallery on San Jose State Campus. 

Prepare walls and artwork to be displayed. Pack and unpack artwork, also prepare work to be moved or shipped.

2022- Artist’s Research Assistant for Sofia Cordova- make and reproduce objects the artist 

Found, make slip casting molds of objects.
